When it was time to retire the old climbing tower, I was given the task of designing its replacement with instructions to give it multiple climbing surfaces and an opening for a double zipline. I designed the base of the tower to wrap around in an oval to allow the inside to be locked. As with most of my projects, I started with a model to help answer questions and solicit suggestions.
After deciding on an oval structure, I realized that an inside climbing wall could be included by adding a roof across the middle.
The maintenance staff did an excellent job building it.
