The idea for this project came from the mechanical claw game at the store where you try to pick up a prize. I thought it would be interesting to build a claw that was raised by a couple of ropes, opened by a rope, and maneuvered by the rest of the group to complete tasks. My boss stopped by my garage to see what I was working on and was hooked. He suggested that we throw a rope over a beam and get the staff to try it out.
Camp needed a new activity for the older campers and I was given the green light. It was great to have help from a couple of volunteer groups to set posts and screw on boards. All ropes are controlled on the outside of the walls.
The goal is to pick up the balls and put them in the milk crates.
